Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient health system. It views the body as a holistic system of balance. According to TCM,
the origin of disease or ill health is due to an imbalance which occurs
in the body due to environmental influences or internal factors.
Qi
An integral part of TCM is the concept of Qi. Qi flows through a system of channels or meridians creating a cycle of energy throughout the body. The vitality or strength of Qi represents the constitutional health of a person. If the Qi is strong it will be able to nourish the organ system, the brain and all other structures of the body. If someone has been placed under prolonged stress or has fatigued due to lifestyle issues, their Qi may become weakened or blocked within the channels. The result of such influences will eventually create an imbalance in the body; this is said to be the origin of disease or ill health
Shiatsu
Shiatsu is Japanese for ‘finger pressure’. This powerful massage utilises the same theories as acupuncture in a system of gentle stretches and pressure. Shiatsu uses the body's own energies to strengthen and improve health and wellbeing. Like Acupuncture, Shiatsu works on Qi, the basic energy that underlies every movement and function of the body. Instead of using needles, however, practitioners use
pressure applied with the hands, to remove blockages and allow efficient Qi flow, thus restoring balance.
Swedish / Deep Tissue / Trigger Point
The term "Swedish Massage" refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones. Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. Trigger points represent small areas of tightness within muscles, creating tight bands and "knots" or tiny bumps from the contracted muscle fibers. Current literature indicates that nerve impulses to these muscle fibers will not "shut off" and that trigger points require some form of manual intervention to help them release.
Chakra Cleansing & Balancing
Chakra's are gateways to the Aura. These gateways of activity receive, assimilate and express life force energy (Qi). They are responsible for the person's physical, mental, and spiritual functions.
The therapist works with the chakra's in and occasionally around the body cleansing them and balancing them. This is the best way to clear any emotional blocks that may be occurring for the client, usually this has already manifested into a physical form causing the client tension, pain and general discomfort in the body.

Crystals
Working with crystals combines the advantages of massage with the powerful healing properties of crystals. Specifically designed to motivate, energise and revitalise your body's natural energy. By repeating certain movements with the crystal, this really enhances the body's natural ability to heal itself.
Sacred Stone Therapy

Sacred Stone massage is an ancient, enduring form of therapeutic bodywork using heated and cooled stones as extensions of the hand. The temperature and weight of the stones creates a deep relaxation and grounding effect for the client. Also alternating from hot to cold stimulates the circulatory system. Sacred stone therapy emphasizes the harmonious collaboration of healing energies between the client, the therapist and the stones.
